Scott Dunsworth Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Heres the rudder almost finished. The white is VC epoxy paint that is loaded with teflon. The yellow is kirbys shaw yellow. One picture shows the downhaul sheve. The rudder ended up a little tighter that I would have liked but a little wax may help. Scott Quote

It's a great feeling to sit in the cockpit, grab the helm and start dreaming! Keep the pics coming. The Belhavan looks like a great boat. Maybe someday ... when my wife is in a good mood ... Howard Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Impressive......very impressive! What is the yellow stuff you are using on the topsides? Also....I'm curious about rudder and centerboard designs. Some are flat across the bottom....others tend to be rounded....with the deepest part forward, centered and aft. Aside from the foil shape along the entire profile, is there a design criteria for when to do which....or is it simply a matter of asthetics? Quote

The topside paint is kirbys shaw yellow. Howard those hard questions are completely out of my limited knowledge. I tried to make as close to the way Graham designed it. I figured that rudder thing might be out of our league. But a good place to ask it. The good thing is that we have access to folks on this list who really know the answer. Quote
