Access to photos

I still don't understand the gallery and photos. I went to open Barry's hatch photos and got "You don't have permission" so go away message. I get same thing in gallery. I registered once, I think. So I went to try to register in the gallery area again and get "Sorry user name is taken." Of course it is. It is mine. :? What gives here

Somebody just posted the line "If there are no pictures, it doesn't exist." If I can't see the pictures, does that mean I don't exist...

I have an account, and am logged in, and I too could not see Barry's pictures.

I had to re-log with users name and password. Then I could see them.

I've had this happen before and all it required to get to see them was to "log in" with your user name and password.

I've been trying to link the gallery photos to post directly into the thread but don't seem to be able to make that work for me. HELP!

Okay, that didn't work. When I log in with my user name and password, it says invalid entry retry or register. When I try to reregister it says "user name already taken."

Frank -- can you just clear me off the gallery so I can re-register there?

I believe the passwords are stored in your own computers temp memory. Frank recommended that I occasionally clear the temp memory and I've not had any problems since.

Start, Settings, Control Panel, Internet Properties, Temporary Internet Files, Click on "Delete Cookies" and "Delete Files" buttons.

Then close.

Go to website again and log in. Should do it. At least it does for me anyway.

'Cookies' are where the passwords are stored. Everytime I delete 'Cookies' I have to re-log. I haven't deleted (or ate )any 'cookies' in quite a while. ;) I delete temp files all the time though with no worries.

Are you hitting the "Register" link instead of the "Login" link? That's the message you get if you are trying to register a name already in use.

Below the blue tabbed menu bar that says "Home" "Forums," "Gallery" etc., to the right, you should see the following links if you are not logged in:

Home | Register | Profile | Login

Make sure you click on "Login".

I have the Gallery "integrated" with the forum log in, so you should be able to go from the Forum to the gallery and stay logged in. Sometimes, if you go to the Gallery first, the log in is not recognized (the Gallery doesn't recognize the cookie for some reason). Other times, even when I go to the Forums first, the Gallery doesn't recognize me. So then I just click that Login link and it asks for my username and password, and it works.

If you are logged in, you should see "Welcome, <Your Name>!" in the first grey bar on the left. Above that you should see three links:

My Gallery | Album Admin | My Favorites

If you are not logged in, you will not see that. Instead you see the pretty cryptic message "Welcome to the My Gallery!"
