plywood

Does anyone know a good source of Marine plywood near Chicago that won't cost over $200 to ship. I decided to build a catspaw 9 as a warm up to building the CS-17, have plans for both and I am starting to gather materials. On another note my catspaw plans show the rigging layout for a boom. I plan on using the sprit rig, anyone have ideas on how to rig the sheets etc.

If you don't mind the drive (about 5 hrs. from Chicago, I think... but you can take I-80 the whole way), there's Cedar Tree, Inc. in Des Moines, IA. Should be a good source for Okoume plywood, not sure what grade, but he does boat restoration projects, so I'm assuming BS1088 (the good stuff). Should be a website for Cedar Tree... try a Google search for "Cedar Tree, Des Moines"

I found my supplier through this link. I called around and found Johnson's Workbench (Mi) had the best prices.

I buy it from Johnson's Workbench in South Bend and that would be a lot closer to you, George. I am surprised that there are not several in the Chicago metro area, and I bet there are....suppliers of marine grade plywood that is.
