My boat is in the stage of construction that she would float, but as of right now she's still afraid of the water. As I'am working on her I talk to her about the water and it's really nothing to be scared of. When my wife hears me talking to the boat she just rolls her eyes. :roll: I know at that moment she's wondering if she should go anywhere with me in that boat. I've never talked to my CS20, Beatrice Ann, but I try out the seats, the aft deck, crawl around the foredeck while imagining reefing, that sort of thing. Most nights I go to sleep imagining future adventures. I HOPE to launch early in August -- but I'm still putting on the deck and have all the finishing, and hardware ahead. Sailing every night in my dreams and going to work everyday working long hours so I can pay for boat goudgens. Then comes the weekend when I can actually spend some time with "Sunshine" and things perk up. Quote
Gordy Hill Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 When I was building Sawdust , my CS17, I got to where I finally installed the framework for the seats. I layed a piece of plywood on the framework and climbed into the boat, sat there, held an imaginary tiller, and stared off into the rear of the house. It only gets better. Quote

I've been scared to try putting my weight in the boat until I've got more finished. This will make installing the centerboard trunk a bit easier How was your CS17 supported while you were sitting in it staring off at the couch on the horizon? Quote

Get everything sorted out and stop for a minute and take a breath. The moment your boat actually floats will stay with you forever. Quote

I can recall vividly EVERY one I've built when that keel first touched water and the slings or trailer came out from under. Even on the rebuilds. Quote

Its not going to happen this year unless the shop roof starts leaking. actually I have to much work to do to even think that I could rush her along and launch her this fall. So I can take more time trying to make things right knowing that it will be late winter or spring before she is ready. Don't forget we all love pictures of Coresound progress!! Quote
