HOWZAT?? Sent from Californy US of A on the 28th of April arrived downunder in Brunswick Junction West Aussie today 3rd May!!! :shock: 5 flamin days!!! You heard it right fellas 5 days from the USA to West Aus!!! AND!!... that was with a bloody weekend in the middle! STRIKE ME ROAN thats 3 working days! AMAFLAMINZIN ! 8)

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahooooooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeee! YAHOO for the US and Aussie postal systems!!

Im stoked! Had me noggin fast stuck in the pages all arvo... totally gobsmaked at how easy these things seem to be! Vacationer and Pocket cruiser plans... taken me a bit of getting used to the layout of the sheets was expecting a book type setup but ended up with sheets... bifocals on to read all the info and it seems to be all over the place!... written sequence doesnt follow the pics sequence but hey! AM I WORRIED??? Not a tadpoles earole Im not!!!

One thing I did notice straight up was that there were no plans for either the boom crutch or the deadeyes!! ah well I guess they just reckoned we should do SOMETHIN ourselves eh! I think it was ol Capn Jake that had some deadeyes on his wasnt it?

Anyways!!! Gotta build the shed then away we go!!! 8)

Aye matey, I have a set of dead-eyes. There is a planlett somewhere out there on both the crutch (though I faked that one) and the dead-eyes.

Actually mate little does me loverly wee possumpoop know but Ive had some great contact with a well known boat designers son over your way and am about to zap the money for the plans of a wee schooner known as "Susan" tomorrow!! :twisted: I think I may just have to buy her a "I LOVE YOU" pressy soon or I'll be in the doghouse for a bit!

I think I may just have to name me wee boat "devious dingo" or some such else shes lible to name it something stupid like "gerroudaere yermug" :wink:

Arrgh! The plan crutch for the weekender is in figure #25. The dimension for the chain plates is in figure #24. If you are going to do actual deadeyes and not turnbuckles, the plans are on the Stevenson website. Go to "other stevenson pages", then to "free plans", then "deadeyes" Hope that helps a bit. Don't have my old PC plans handy, so I can't help you there. Actually recommend making a bigger boom crutch. Did the original, and it had a habit of slipping at the wrong moment. This is what I am using now, made from the left over from cutting the cabin beam.

The "shed" ye talk of is a nissan hut thingy otherwise known by some as a Quonset hut... tis not really weather proof... tis like a massive green house thingy... I sure wouldnt put me tools in there!!... now mate I am about to buy a shed... yes indeed but this one unlike the Nissan/Quonset hut thingy will be enclosed and power on etc... its a must have mate a blokes just not a bloke without his shed :roll:

Now as for the plan of Susan... As some of yous know for a long long time I was deep in boatlust with Murray Petersons Coaster Schooner design... then I got somethin in me shorts or maybe it was just the missus givin me an earfull :roll: and I sorta figured that maybe Im gettin a bit long in the toofs to be thinkin of a bloody great 50ft schooner :shock: then I saw Susan.... ahhh 28ft of georgelishus wooden boat... will I build Susan? Damned if I know! But the plans mates the ruddy plans!! 40 sheets of drawins for crickeys sake!!! I just gotta ave them by gar!... and who knows with that bloody great Nissan/Quonset hut type thingy out the back maybe just maybe she will let me loose to have a go at it

The way I figure it... it is way more fun for us, the WB forum and probably a dozen other boat forums...that Mr. D does not ever build a boat...any boat. He would be too busy to create his articulate masterpices of English language...and we would all be the poorer for it.

So keep buying up those plans mate, keep dreaming.....build that house for the poopy possum. And we will keep enjoying the most entertaining guy on the web. :thumbsup:
