Image Resizer for Forums

This is a great program that is very easy to use. It allows you to resize images for use in the forum here. And, it is free. Forever.

For forum uploads, I recommend 400 pixels wide, although you can go up to 800 pixels and have the image accepted.

Another reason to use a 400 pixel wide size is that it makes the picture smaller in terms of the disk space it requires (KB). If the image is under a certain size in KB, the forum will resize it to a thumbnail that is 300 pixels wide, so you have a better chance of having the picture displayed as a thumbnail if you upload a smaller file. Otherwise it ends up as a link that the viewers must click on to display in a new window.

Frank, will this size recommendation be included with the information link for downloading pics? I find myself checking there from time to time due to my crummy memory :roll: .

Frank Is this just a pix software to orginize and play with the pix some or is it a webhost to upload pix's to?

PhotoBucket has a lot to offer too. I recommend that one to a lot of folks. It's fast simple and free up to a certain number of pix's which I have maxed out. HeHe

It just takes a picture and allows you to resize it. So you can take a 1280 x 768 pic and resize it to 400 x 300 very quickly. In the process, it reduces the file size as well.

Thanks for the link Frank. I downloaded this one because I thought the batching ability would be perfect...and it is! What a time saver. Works like a charm.
