Konrad in Lincoln Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 I can't help it, I have to talk about it. We have a sofa and a love seat. We have a nice square marble table between them that stands about 18-20 inches off the floor. So we're minding our own business on the couches the other night, watching some history show or something. Collin enters the room, in full toddler-running mode, and he's holding a ceramic cereal bowl high over head with both arms while he runs. He runs across the room, bowl held high, screaming an impressive war chant the whole way. He reaches the marble table, stops, and in a thunderous crash of splinters and shards of ceramic, brings the bowl down as hard as he can on the table. This startles him for just a moment. He looks at each of us, giggles, does a U-turn, and runs out of the room again with hands held high. Minus the cereal bowl which is strewn between us. We're left there speechless and blinking at each other. Didn't even have a chance to say one word during the event, this all unfolded in about 6 seconds. Talk about a Weapon of Mass Destruction.. Amazing. Quote
Mike Donlin Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 It will only get worse from here on out-good luck. You're gonna need it. This might be a good time to review your insurance policy, esp. the parts concerning man-made disasters. Gee, you and Lisa have the whole "let's see where the water goes when I plug the drain with this washcloth and turn on the water" trick to look forward to yet. Just keep posting stories-we have all "been there, done that" Hang on and Enjoy the ride. They grow up way too fast. Quote
JMetzner Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Gee, you and Lisa have the whole "let's see where the water goes when I plug the drain with this washcloth and turn on the water" trick to look forward to yet. Then there's the "why can't I do chinups on the towel bar?!?!" phase.....Cripes I can't count how many times I had to re-hang those dang things. And then they discover fun things to do with fireworks, ohhhh boy. Enjoy buddy! --John M. Fairbanks, AK Quote
Frank Hagan Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Mine always discovered the wonderful world of toilet paper, and how you can unroll it directly into the toilet, then flush it repeatedly. The worse are those things you don't see, but you can imagine. My toddler came up to me one morning, woke me up, put a finger about a millimeter in front of my eyes and said "the cat scratched me!" "Huh, what?" I said, and she replied "I was taking her temperature" and she held up a Q-tip. Quote
Andrew_Butchart Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 My "favourite" is the time that I had to completely disassemble the VCR because it had a crying little boy's hand stuck in it. - He was trying to change the movie by himself. Quote
rolandblais Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I've also attached the image in case it doesn't pull correctly. Peace, Roland [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin] Quote
Dave R1 Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I love Calvin! My sister in law gave me a Calvin and Hobbes book to read before Ian was born. After that, Kari wouldn't let me name our boy Calvin. Quote
