Joe Nelson CS#35 Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 There must be a million little details to attend to on the home stretch. Hope you make your deadline. I have yet to see a picture of a Princess that is being driven hard. I hope you have some wind for the maiden voyage! Quote
Charlie Jones Posted October 12, 2004 Author Posted October 12, 2004 Joe- I may be wrong but I think this boat is only the second Princess to be built. Quote
capt jake Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 I may be wrong but I think this boat is only the second Princess to be built I believe you are correct on that one. I have seen hull #1 and i am looking forward to seeing this one completed. Great job BTW!! Quote
dstgean Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Charlie, I am ordering a sail from Graham for a project I'm building. It is a 21' Hawaiian outrigger with amas on both sides to make a tri. I am trying to find a tapered section 6061 aluminum tube. I havn't found anything, but I can get straignt sided tubing and mate a tapered birds mouth setion to the top like you have done. What overlap are you using to preserve the strength of the mast? What thickness are you using for the staves of the birdsmouth section? Did you taper the thickness of those as well as the width? I believe I may try this method as well. Other that asthetics, what are the advantages of the tapered section vs a full length aluminum tubing of the same section? Dan Quote
