So I tried to slip it in the house as something that a woman could relate to. A big new mixer. Not a kitchen aid, but a delta. WRONG it didn't work. I guess I'm really lucky because she worked in the shop with me every day for 7 years. She never asks why when I buy a new tool or boat parts. Quote

She doesn't care about my explaination, but just likes to watch me squirm and see how creative my reasons are. I do contract work at the Whirlpool/KitchenAid Tech Center for portable appliances, such as stand mixers. I expect we will enjoy this picture. Quote

Thanks for lightening up the day. When I buy tools, I just do it. My wife is quite tolerant of my tool purchases because I am quite tolerant of her purchases. Guest Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 What a laugh to wake up to, today. Funny thing that fits along those notes, is that some tools from the kitchen end up in the shop as alternative uses. It takes a tolerant spouse to agree to spending on tools. But its also helps that I am married to one that enjoys the fruits of my labor. SO its hard to argue with my logic on the necessity to keep the best avaliable, that the budget can buy. 8) Quote
Barry Pyeatt Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 Guess you should have followed thru and actually made some of those Bisquick biscuits. That should have convinced her. I used an electric drill one time when the mixer quit on me in the middle of making a large batch of fudge. Got a few looks on that until they realized it was variable speed. Used a battery operated one on a camping outing to mix up a big bowl of pancake batter and then eggs for scrambled eggs. So we do have some creative things to offer in an emergency. :wink: Quote
