adla Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 hehehe....I glued up some stock for the bowsprit today (it was only 110 degrees ~ felt like a second winter :twisted: ..in HELL) it is just a sittin on the deck and stem...needs to be rounded on the end and the burn marks from the table saw need to be sanded down...but she is solid mahogany....very happy with it. You know, building a sailboat in the desert is just a little bit more goofy than building one where I live. I didn't realize when I started it that there are no natural lakes in the county I live in and all the man made ones are tucked deep down between high, wood bluffs. I have to drag the boat at least an hour to find water. Keep up the good work. Quote

adla Posted June 10, 2004 Author Posted June 10, 2004 i think so...but you should see my plans they are in some BAD shaPE...the dogs have eaten them more than once...and the wind has blown them around the yard ~ they are a MESS...all taped up and tattered...different pics and web stuff mixed in the mess...hard to tell what is what. but as best I could tell, I made it the plan size. here is a better picture of a rough layout...wanted to see the boat with the purdy bowsprit ON... it cooled down to just 80 today...but that is how it is here...110 one day and 80 the next with threatening rain...(but it never really does) a. The next time you came on line with progress, you had the rubrails done and now the bowsprit. All of that in the desert. You are truly amazing! Keep up the good work and the great progress.
