adla Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Well...I glued the deck on tonight and all the bulk heads...barely a one person job I would say! :evil: I don't know if it was supposed to be so tight..I had to put a cinder block on the front to get the deck to meet the front bulkhead and there was a good amount of stress in getting the back down on the transom but in the end the shape is nice and the boat is starting to look like something! I did it with a little help from my dad but even then it wasn't exactly easy. I need a few extra hands and feet. It seems to go a lot faster once you get 3d. Quote

When you get the sides on, you'll be amazed at how strong the "plywood box" is! It looks very good, by the way. You are doing a great job with getting the boat 3-D (always an exciting time for boatbuilders!) Quote
adla Posted March 13, 2004 Author Posted March 13, 2004 Thanks for all the encouragement. Today was another mile stone...while work seemed to get in the way! (i can't believe how many times i was interrupted while boat building) I built the mast box...set my angle finder at 93 degrees and agonized over the position of the mast box...it went in the first try with a perfect angle so I knew something must be wrong, eh? AND so, I re-measured and looked and finally settled that it must be ok...it is glued in and the area is glassed a bit. (i couldn't help myself) I am also sharing a glass patch on the deck where the darn thing almost split, in fact the panel joiner underneath did split in 2 and I glassed both sides...(although a front patch isn't normally my style...) I would rather epoxy/glass than putty or putty/epoxy. and then finally, I got one panel of one side on and now i am wiped out! it is loOking like a boat!
