I have a mold problem in my basement and a mold removal company said to use a product called "Timbor", it is suppose to kill mold and wood destroying insects. When we remodeled our bath we coated all the wood with a green chemical from Home Depot to kill and prevent mold.

Some of mine when mixed with wood flower actually looked like the dog had a accident, the runny stuff. My wife was not amused when I placed one of these creations on her new carpet and sat back to watch her reaction when she walked in the door :twisted: .

I guess I am the first one back from Lake Allatoona. I had a great time meeting some new people and seeing some old friends. The winds were light to moderate and made for good sailing. We had a collection of people from 3 different internet groups and boats from home built to factory, that varied from sail, motor and oar. The camp ground was the best I have been to so far, even the old fat guy with bad knees could get to the water's edge with out any help. There are 8 people missing from the photo not counting the old fat guy.

NICE, I like your idea better than my "Pop-Top". Captan Bud has been trying to get me to lower my roof line and install a soft top like yours for almost a year now.

The hull is finished. I am still working on the spars and rudder.

Blackberry needs some work to repair two years of sun, rain and neglect. I had to store her upside down for two years while I worked on my PC. I had to stop using her because I kept turning over every time I got in or out of her.

John it has been a long time no see. This sounds like fun, I won't be camping but I will be there. You might post this on the BYYB, some of my Southeastern Fleet members might want to attend as our Spring messabout fell apart because of Dave's ill health.

I made my 18' mast the way Bud mentioned and I can support it at both ends and it will hold my 330 lbs. with out bending.

That is a very interesting bridge, I have never seen one that works like that.

Can someone tell me how to cut 1/4" Lexan? :? All I know is I have to keep it cool when cutting but with what liquid and what type of saw?

With a little luck and some help this Saturday. I have no mast yet but I did "jury-rig a mast light so I would be legal.

I have finaly got my PC out of the shop, it took 2 1/2 years of work so far. The cabin looks too high because I had to extend it up because of my arthritis, my stiff joints don't like to bend very much.

Looks great Just wish I had seen yours before I built mine. I made mine out of Black Walnut.

"Circle Skipjack" or better known as a Skipjack

I sanded a little yesterday on a few rough spots in the cabin and am I glad I used a respirator. If I hadn't my lungs would be itching like the rest of me.

Barry I am glad you are finally getting to have some fun. I have two more parts to make and my boat will be ready to paint.

Your angle looks right. I used my radial arm saw set on 5 deg. and two 2 X 6 blocks clamped at a 90 deg. angle to the fence to keep the scarf wood in alignment. I do not have enough room in the shop to use the table saw effectively, my boat takes up most of the floor space.

I just got through scarfing my toe rails (3/4" X 1 1/2" SYP) on my PC at a 5 deg. angle. Both broke when installed, the scarf fell on the sharpest part of the bend and just could not take the curve. We also used 5 min. epoxy, a mistake because it doesn't have time to penetrate the wood. 1 1/2" material doesn't bend easily.

I am going to have a "Boat Shed" Saturday June 26, from 9 am. until finished. We will have hamburgers, chips and a variety of soft drinks. We will be doing a little fiberglassing; cut out my toe rail. cut a scarf joint, glue it with 5 minute epoxy, shape it and fasten it to the boat. Use denatured alchol by 10% maximum to thin epoxy if necessary. To slow down the kick off of epoxy cool it down. Put your containers in an ice chest with ice.

There are a few stitch and glue Weekender's out there but the only one I can recall is Phil's boat mentioned above. I am working on a stitch and glue Pocket Cruiser of my own. The advantages of the stitch and glue are; no screws to strip out, no stringers to bend and break, no stringers to catch dirt and water, you can stop at any time and come back later to finish [because of my health it took me 4 days to join the transom, sides and bottom]. On the down side it will require some thought on how you are going to hold every thing together and in alignment until the epoxy sets up. Phil is a nice guy and was a lot of help to me.
