Spindrift 11S

Have just 3D'd a new Spindrift build and have had several of the issues discussed elsewhere on this forum - eg ripping of the glass tape at the butterfly join. I took the measure of pulling everything apart and starting again. Second attempt is closer but the issue that I need to overcome is an overlap of the panels in the curve of the stem. I can't force or finesse them to meet at the join for about 10" (250mm). Before I take to it with a saw can anyone with prior experience suggest a fix. Have not been able to find a measurement error and started with a nice fair curve. I'm listening!

I can't help you other than to say that when I was bending mine into shape, I laid a couple of wet washcloths on the wood to boost the moisture content, having read about problems like this. I wish I could offer more, but mine went together so smooth that I thought it wasn't really necessary.

On my Spindrift 12 I had no problems at all. All I can think of is that it may be the type of plywood that you are using or the weight of the tape you are using since you say that the measurements are correct. Sorry that's all I can think of.

Way too much unknown for anything but guesses.  But............

Found the issue. I had the hull supported on an elevated frame. It has two crossbeams and they were distorting things by pushing up on the bottom panel. Eventually all fell in to place when I supported it at the ends. Thank you for considering my question.
