Beautiful job!  I really like the "wrong way" grain on the coaming.  I'm also impressed with the fact that you kept track of the hours even when you worked in small increments- that's good info. 

So you went for the topping lifts right away?  How do you like them?

I like topping lifts on any sail dropped with halyard- stops the boom crashing onto the deck/coaming when dropping and when reefing. They are a single line from the mast head with a snap hook to attach to the adjustable portion on the boom. They clip onto a fitting on the mast for trailing.

Peter did you go with the 3 degrees of rake on the masts?  Trying to get an idea of what that looks like over the length of the mast.

Yes she has the standard 3 degrees of rake. Here's a photo during the build from directly side on- the rake is pretty clear.

Traditionally, adjusting rake was a way to improve sail balance on a new boat- shifting the CE of the sail plan either forward or aft as needed. I suspect on the Coresound it's mainly for looks- ie the balance is right with a little rake and it's aesthetically good.

My guess is that the rake makes the sail want to hang over the boat rather than where ever it feels like in very light or no wind.
