My progress was basically halted due to the Laura Jane project.  Now that I'm no longer w/the project, I have my boat at home and have made a lot of headway.

Because of the size restrictions here, I was not able to load many photos.  There are more in my Picasso at the URL.

That sure looks like a Core Sound.  You're getting there, hopefully you will have some in the water shots soon.  Best of luck with the final push to finish.

Fine, sweet looking boat!  I am busy capturing your pics to your folder on my PC, thank you for this.  I will use them should I build a CS20 too.

What did you use for fairing compound?

I have been looking at your other album pics too.  It sure brings back memories.  A beautiful land and people.  The building of Laura Jane is awesome, and the pics of the folks at the celebration was a lot of fun for me to look at too.

Thanks for the kudos, Greg.  This thing seems like it has taken me forever, but I can see the end in sight now.

I just had to use a combination of talcum powder and cabosil to fair.  Viet Nam has very limited resources regarding fairing compounds.  When I found the cabosil, I bought 4 kilos.  Just in case you didn't know, that is a LOT of cabosil, but it was cheap.

Yes, I have found VN to be a fascinating place as well.  Nothing like what I first experienced in 69-70.  It has been healing.

Will update again when it looks different. ;D

I would love to see it up close.  You have a real eye for detail, oh, and it appears the ability to apply the details too.  Looking great.

A little more progress today.  I have the rudder assy done, the centerboard mounted and uphaul installed.  Put a fairlead on the bow (it's a little more "Vietnamese" than I like, but will be functional). 

Tomorrow will see the final touch ups to little dings and scratches.

I have decided to try the wooden masts.  Anybody know just how heavy a mast this boat can handle w/out tipping over?  Anyway, I will start finishing them tomorrow.  Wish me luck.

I wish I could be there for the splash and the sailing.  Watch out for those typhoons in the South China Sea.

Thanks Greg.  Today, we are touching up the few dings and scratches accumulated during the build.  We've also started work on putting the bright finish on the masts and will begin hardware install w/in the next few days.

Damn!  I've really enjoyed building this boat, but I'm looking forward to the completion.
