New Book by Glen-L

I was browsing their site about a week ago and saw that there was a new book available...so I bought it. Got it yesterday and am about 1/2 through. It is set up like a builders notebook and is even spiral bound to lay flat on a page. It covers Plywood boat building and is set up for the amateur builder as a reference guide. In some ways it is much like Devlin's book but simplified and more like an actual notebook with snippets of knowledge. It covers a bit on design, shape and style of hulls, motor placements, transom design for OBs, filleting, stringers, chinelogs ...you name it. It is full of tips and tricks. I would recommend this for any person new to boatbuilding or even someone with a few under their belt.

I don't brouse their site as much as I used to, the cost of their plans are a bit out of my range. However, there are a few I like. Don't hurt to dream.

I'll check out the book though.

I know what you mean...I love the Hankinson design Ensenada and now it is available from Glen-L but at $330 for the plans and patterns... a bit steep. One day I'll get them though.

I like the Ultra- Pierre  : But then I still have plans for the Calidonia Yawl.

I have an Essex built, Islander 23 that needs to be restored and a vacationer that needs some deck work.

Also, a 26'x14' boat shed to put up.    Come on break up

I'll just have to cool my jets for awhile.

But I do feel the need  ;D
