Tom Lathrop's Lapwing took her maiden sail this afternoon. The boat is gorgeous. He and Graham were both thrilled how it sailed. As billed, the weather is crappy at the moment, but lots of sailing took place before the rain, which should clear by late tomorrow. I'm sure there will be lots of pictures posted. Quote

One thing is also for sure, if you did not come you have missed out on some of the finest Italian food tonight just for starters. I know you say Italian???? Yep, way out in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of a corn field full of deer and bear, 40 head at least has just finished up feeding their faces and in between a couple of words was spoken. Even with the iffy stuff expected tommorrow, sunday is billed to be picture perfect for anyone close by. Burp!!! Quote

Here in New Zealand it is a three day weekend. We have a yearly Coastal Classic yacht race - about 120 nautical miles from Auckland to Russell. The wind has been about 40 knot on the nose - over half the boats pulled out (especially some of the multihulls which always win if the wind in from behind - in fact a trimaran won this time). bfeller Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Well, I am out. I was hooking up my trailer to the truck this morning while getting ready to leave. I smelled coolant coming from the exhaust. After looking under the hood I found a line into the heater core was leaking coolant. By the time I got the trailer unhooked and the truck back into the driveway the steam started flowing. I am really disappointed about being unable to attend. Brett Quote
