I laminated up 4 layers of 6mm plus I am going to coat it a couple of times plus paint...so say 25.4 mm or 1 in total. What kind of clearance should I use between the DB and the case walls...1/16"...1/8"...friction fit? Steve Quote
Charlie Jones Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 First, I don't like ply dagger boards- they are weaker than solid lumber ones. I like at least 1/8th inch clearance. Too loose and they rattle, too tight and they are a pain to work. 1/8th seems about right- giving 1/16th each side. Quote

Greg Luckett Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 The Spindrift plans call for 1/8 clearance total, if I read it right. That would be 1/16 on the sides if the DB is centered. I worry that it should be more. Quote
