Iowa Great Lakes Messabout

I will be hosting the 2nd Iowa Messabout July 27-29 at the Gull Point campground at Spirit Lake, Iowa. This Messabout also cooincides with the Wooden boat festival at Okoboji that same weekend

No, no Lake Pepin for us this year. The boys are not out of school until Friday and the drive is a day either way too. Our motor home is also still in the shop being worked on. I hope to make it there next year and with a Spindrift 12 in tow..

I have reserved # 6 at Marble beach, which is right on the lake with  beach frontage. There are over a half dozen open spots on either side as of right now...basic tent sites. Cost is $11 per night. Full hookups are $16 per night.

Pot luck on Saturday night...time is undecided as of yet. I am no sure which day the festival parade is or what time so we might eat early or after if it is saturday.

Got 'er done. Reseverved #7. Steve, the link in your first post doesn't work. Googled Iowa DNR and searched sight for Marble Beach. Quite a change from the days we used to hang there in the neighbor's converted schoolbus! Any of you good folks from the Lake Pepin bunch considering the trek across the prairie?

Looks like no sites are available for my RV.  It would be a long shot for us to make it this year anyway but I hope to make it next year.  We have too many unresolved family issues and not enough vacation to deal with this year.

I am looking forward to seeing the pics and hearing the stories.
