Greg Luckett Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 The City politely reminded me that I needed to finish the fencing and paint the boat shed and finish the landscaping by June 1 in order to complete the permits. We had 2 inches of snow on the ground 3 weeks ago, but now the weather has turned nice and construction is galloping....okay, as fast as an old fat man can move anyway. Sam, Ben, and Dan are helping a lot too. There always seems to be something blocking the Spindrift 12 project, sigh. Quote
Wild Dingo Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 So mate you going to tackle this boatbuilding caper as a full on business type thing? Steve Day Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Greg, Good to see that you can make progress now that the weather is cooperating. That is a pretty nice setup and looks like it will work in the winter. A large step from working out of the garage. Sorry to hear that you aren't getting the Spindrift along as far as you want, but it will come in good time. Keep on keepin' on, Steve Quote

I do get repair jobs every now and then and may develope the business from that. I hope to retire from full time working at Whirlpool sometime in the next year or two. Thanks for the good wishes. Greg Luckett Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 Since we only get about 2 nice days a week here on average, outside work is slower than I like. The guys who make a living doing the work manage to handle the weather but I do not. Anyway, some updated pics. The fence is done except for the post caps and lights, which should be installed this week. The heavy timbers are for the retaining wall. Once that is in, then a couple of loads of dirt and bingo...done. Quote
