The boat yard construction continues

The City politely reminded me that I needed to finish the fencing and paint the boat shed and finish the landscaping by June 1 in order to complete the permits. We had 2 inches of snow on the ground 3 weeks ago, but now the weather has turned nice and construction is galloping....okay, as fast as an old fat man can move anyway. Sam, Ben, and Dan are helping a lot too. There always seems to be something blocking the Spindrift 12 project, sigh.

So mate you going to tackle this boatbuilding caper as a full on business type thing?

The wee shed looks cute sittin there surrounded by the lattice work fence... real purty! be great for the daughter or granddaughter for a cubby house eh? 8) nah just pullin yer leg mate

Good to see that you can make progress now that the weather is cooperating.

That is a pretty nice setup and looks like it will work in the winter. A large step from working out of the garage.

I would love to have a boat building business but I have not had much luck selling boats around here. I do get repair jobs every now and then and may develope the business from that. I hope to retire from full time working at Whirlpool sometime in the next year or two. Thanks for the good wishes.

Since we only get about 2 nice days a week here on average, outside work is slower than I like. The guys who make a living doing the work manage to handle the weather but I do not. Anyway, some updated pics. The fence is done except for the post caps and lights, which should be installed this week. The heavy timbers are for the retaining wall. Once that is in, then a couple of loads of dirt and bingo...done.
