Frank Hagan Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 My sister and her friend were out bodysurfing, and one "crashed" into the water between them ... and they were only about 4' apart! Scared the daylights out of them. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen was one morning, bobbing in the fog on my boogie board and not able to see the shore, and hearing a sound, looking up and out of the mist a line of 6 or 7 pelicans flying so low toward me that they rose up a bit while they made their in-line avoidance move. Surfing is a good way to watch this phenom. It's nice to see so many of them again; there was a kind of lean time for them a decade or so ago it seemed. Mike Quote

Mike[/quote'] I love to watch them myself, there is this one spot on a bayou where i anchor and watch them for hours. The way they skim along just inches above the water in formation reminds me of attack aircraft on a low level run. The browns are so plentiful here on the gulf coast that most people don't even notice them. Cap'n Trey Quote
