My calculatron says hull speed would be around 3.42 knots. No wonder he's holding on!

Dinks get a lot smaller than the Mini-Paw. This is an apple tart from Chuck Merrell. It is only 6 feet long and weighs 30#. Unfortunately it will not meet my demands. Thought it might be of interest to some of you lighter people as a dink for your smaller cruising boats.

In dinks that small, corky as they are because of the size, you DON"T want the big guy moving around. You park his butt, then adjust yourself to balance the boat

And he sits STILL!!!

The center of gravity is WAY above water line with that weight in there.

This has been a fun thread. Thanks for all your input. I just had a revelation...what would be wrong with a Two Paw? Tow it or set it on the foredeck of a CS20. I just took my tape measure out and it would fit on the fordeck (nested) quite nicely. I think the 1'8" nested height would even clear my sail foot? Now for when you expect the weather that Charlie cautioned about possibly cutting loose the dinghy, you just put her on the foredeck. Figure out some kind of cushioning system to protect the fordeck paint.

Looking at some pics, my mainsail wont clear the dink on the foredeck...but...I am ordering new sails for tracks. Then I could hoist up the main a bit higher and clean the dink when it is on the foredeck. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Now someone is going to burst my bubble with something I didn't take into account.
