A Place to Build a Boat

In an effort to avoid trying to build a 20 foot boat in a 20 foot shop, I've finally covered the patio to give myself some elbow room. It may not be a nice as Charlie's new shop, but it's out of the weather at least.

Thats a great place to build a boat! A the barbeque will never be to far way while the work progresses - good thinking.

You have a great project infront of you. I enjoyed every minute of building my CS20, and now enjoy sailing it. Welcome to the fleet. Keep us posted.

Looking good- and if the weather is rainy you can hang temporary tarps up around it, or take 'em down when you want the breeze.

That's a better place then an unairconditioned garage. The wind will keep it cooler and less wood dust control needed. The only problem might be painting. You might need tarps then to keep the dust and bugs off. No worries with rain as that seems to be a once or twice a year event here. If you need a hand with the boat, I'm nearby and would gladly lend one though it looks like your doing fine on your own.

Yeah, I'm already envisioning a way to rig up some plastic sheeting to create a temporary paint booth. Also considering some kind of drop-down canvas sides that can make a quick indoor/outdoor conversion. However, that much canvas would probably be pretty expensive.

Just wrap around the posts with clear plastic, like the stuff they sell as drop cloths for painting. Over lap one end (sealed door) and you're good to go.
