Another new build

I have been admiring the pictures the sockeye on the Devlin site (as well as all the other boats there) for years. When I look at other designs to build I always go back there to compare. I hope you remember to keep us updated as the build progresses.

That boat is breathtaking..... maybe I'll win the lottery or something....

While many see a bunch of wood going together, that will float, I still see many individuals expressing their personalities when spending hard earned money, all be it relative, no different than anyone else that participates in these unigue forums and their builds here on display. While many may say we are all nuts, at least this thread shows that there is plenty of this stuff going around, keeping many sole proprietorships operating, even though in too many cases at a loss. But heck consider it legal drugs, at least.

I am almost beyond that stage. ;) Now I am working for plywood! :)

I agree with the last posting on this. I have gotten captured into the wood working and building of boats (for my own pleasure) even though only have built one 18 ft strip-wood canoe and now one rowboat/sailboat, it is enjoyable. It is something done a billion times in the past by other master builders, but it is all new to me. It is the desire to learn I would say.
