smoolie671 Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Well I got the aft mast shrouds rigged and tightened. I still have 16 more deadeyes to make for the upper parts of the masts. Can I say, God bless the man who invented turnbuckles! Deadeyes look awsome, but, they can be a pain in the butt when your making as many as I am. She's starting to look more salty by the day. Quote

My guess is it will be mandatory to dress up like a pirate whenever the boat is out on the water. Got a parrot for your shoulder? Everyone says it will stretch, but I have tightened it pretty tight and it's never stretched yet. The hull of course is the basic weekender design. However from the normal deck up, it totally my design. It will be ballasted to keep it from rolling over in heavy winds or gusts. For the most part the square sails will only be used on the downwind. She will have 3 jibs and one smaller gaff, and possibly a stay sail or two. I have a lot of learning to do to sail her correctly. Ulysses Quote
