Well, he originally said he'd have it finished in 6 years. He's been married for 12. And he's been working on it for 16 years. I like how he's blamed the extra 10 years on his committment to his wife. I think if it were up to his wife, he'd have finished in 5 years. Believe me, I've tried blaming my committment to my wife for not finishing projects around here. It just doesn't work

I can't imagine why? A 30' sailboat larger than the surrounding houses that's been under construction for 16 years? And the neighbors will be glad to see it completed? I just don't get it :wink: It is a beautiful boat and cool story, though!

I'm trying to get some inside info on this. I hate to see a local company go down the tubes like this. Sailnet used to be a sponsor of CORA (Charleston Ocean Racing Association) so someone with Cora should know what's going on. Doesn't look good with the article in the Post and Courier, though

Maybe a telescoping setup? Or a 3 foot section that will snap into place between the two pieces?

The most recent paint thread got me thinking about the possiblity of using POR-15 as a paint. As a car guy, I've run across several people that love the stuff and swear by it. If you've never heard of it, it's basically superglue with color in it. Very tough stuff. Tough and dangerous to work with, though. Anyway, I went to their website and noticed they carry a product called Topside Yacht Enamel. I don't think it's the same formula as the regular POR-15, though. Just wondering if anyone has used either product on their boat or anything else. I really could build the Vacationer! I'll just build it in the FROG (finished room over the garage). I shouldn't get too much dust in the house, LOL!
