According to the steveproj web site, the first Weekender plans appeared as a featured design in 1981 in Popular Science Magazine. I guess that's not too many to look through, but if I know which issue(s) I can probably do a search and interlibrary loan. I kind of want to go back and look at those as I crank up here...but more about the specific project in a later post.

Thanks, Roland.

Now that I'm getting it narrowed down, I'll just try and interlibrary loan from UK or UofL or else wander in and dig it out myself. (Those are, for the uninitiated, places of great renown in Old Kentuck; which I can say in good faith even though I'm a UT RockyTop grad.) One of them should have it in film in back peroidicals.

Roland; hate to be bothersome, but if you have a copy, do you have the page numbers?

I got that image from the web page on tripod.com that the link goes to. That web page bore the text "Weekender 3-81 above the graphic, that's why I hazarded a guess of March 1981... Sorry, but I don't have that issue.

Googling for "weekender popular science" turned up a few links but that page was the only one I saw with any relevance.

Peace,

Roland

Can't say for the Weekender, But the Pocket Cruiser was in the Feb '83 issue of PS, page 88, and also says less than $800 to build. Yes, I still have the magazine, and it was what got me started in this madness, first with a PC back in 84, and now with the Vacationer sitting in the drive. (My wife said the next boat would have to be big enough to have bunks.)
