Ordered Princess 26 plans!

I ordered my set of plans for the Princess 26. My wife is making build a canoe first though. Oh well, whatever it takes to get the other half more interested in boating is worth it.

After talking with Graham, it sounds like it is even better than I thought. What a great design!

Joe congratulation on your choice. In june of 2003 my wife and I visited Graham and Carla for an hour or two. I was in love with the Princess 26. After looking at the prints of the 22 and 26 I was still in love. We stopped by and looked at Chic's Princess 22. That was a beautifully built boat. But I kept coming back to the Belhaven because of the size of my shop and I would be sailing alone 90% of the time. So I decided to go with the Belhaven. BUT my heart is still with the Princess 26. So when you get started please keep us updated with a lot of pictures.

If I get to retire in Oak Island NC in a three years my wife is already prepared for the news that there will be another boat built, a Princess 26 or maybe a Princess 30 if Graham is willing.

Again congratulation on a very fine choice.

I have wanted to first build a Princess 22, then the Princess 26 for several years now. The reality check is that I have neither the time, money, nor place to build either boat, so it is wishfull thinking for me. Still, I keep wishing and am always on the look out for the right place, the money, and the time to build one. Good luck with yours and I very much look forward to hearing how you do and seeing pictures.

Glad to hear all the fine comments on the princess'. It will be a while before I can begin construction. My wife built me a shop this past spring. It is 24x36 with 12' walls. I am in the final stages of getting it ready for occupancy...work benchs, shelves, floor, etc. Then I am moving my core sound 20 into it for finishing. Before I begin another big project my wife has asked that I build us a canoe or two.

I ordered the plans for planning the interior layout, etc.. I hope to begin construction later this winter. I will give you all progress pictures as she comes to life.

As a very poor person who's some time away from building a Core Sound 20, I'm enjoying (and envying) everyone's progress. I'm especially interested in yours since I believe we're not too far apart and I would love to see it when you're done. FYI, since at the moment I'm carless and sharing an apartment, I went the portable boat route: a Sevylor Fish Hunter inflatable plus a rig from "Sailboats-to-Go". Weird looking but it actually works, I'm sailing my own boat for the first time in many years. Which makes the important point: the best boat is the one you got. Meanwhile I'll keep drooling over my CS20 plans, and wait to see pic's of the first Princess 26!
