Frank Hagan Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 I'm corresponding with John right now, and he did say he's taking a promo tour this October to Texas (Chuck over at Duckworksmagazine.com is one of his plans distributors) and then to the Mid Atlantic Small Craft Festival near DC, where he's speaking both days. He said he might pop in here; I hope he does so we can fill up his "dance card" while he's here in the States. (Of course, the poor guy might just want to take care of his business while here and may not have any time for enjoying himself!) Quote

Charlie Jones Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 Yeah Frank- we were sailing with Chuck and Sandra from Duckworks this weekend (the 4th) The event I was referring to is a race/cruise put on by Shorty, from Palacios over to one of the points in either Tres Palacios or Matagorda bay. Should be a fun weekend- I'm gonna try to have our sharpie ready for the trip. Trying to install a third mast step so we can throttle it back a bit when necessary We be just a TAD light to hold her down if it blows stink. We've sailed several times with the Leinwebers- great folks. Quote
Frank Hagan Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 Chuck has always seemed like a good guy on-line; its good to hear that he is the same in person! John gave me his actual schedule, and I misunderstood what he said earlier. Because of the international date line, he leaves NZ in the afternoon on 9/23 and then arrives in Los Angeles early in the morning of the same day ... and then gets on a plane to Texas at 7AM! He will be a zombie if he's anything like me ... any flight over 8 hours really wipes me out. He leaves for Washington, DC about the 30th of September, so he will be up there in early October. Anyone in that area who wants to can catch up with him at the Mid Atlantic Small Craft Festival, where he will be teaching classes both days. Quote
