Frank Hagan Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Some of you may know that my wife quit her job, and has been busy around the house. I am concerned she will run out of projects and look to me as her next project (not that I don't need the help!) She is away at her sister's, and coming home this afternoon. During my overnight business trip, there has been a poliferation of pillows in my bedroom. E-L-E-V-E-N pillows are now on my bed. I was silent when this happened in our guest room / office, figuring I would never have to deal with them. Last night, tired after coming home from the airport, I foolishly tossed all the pillows on the floor. This morning I could not recreate the beautiful cascade of pillows, but I did come up with the solution pictured below. Lacking a chocolate mint, I was able to find a Tums to put on top. However, I'm not sure this will appeal to my wife, and ask for any recommendations on how to arrange these infernal pillows! [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin] Quote
Dave R1 Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Frank, I think the Tums on the bed should be a nice substitute for a chocolate. Tell her you didn't want the treat to get lost on the bed and that's why you took the pillows off. If you really must put them back you could do a rainbow sort of thing. You know, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Or you could alphabetize them or stack them in order of size, smallest on the bottom. Well, maybe it would be wisest if you set yourself up a cot out in the garage. good luck. Quote
Barry Pyeatt Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Lacks only the dozen long stemmed red roses to accompany them plus the apology note for not getting them right and thanking her for all her patience while she decorates. A nice insert of a certificate for a day at the spa generally works wonders along with the apology note and the red roses. Quote
Greg Luckett Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Frank, Is she making those pillows? If so, perhaps she could make pillows with boat names embroidered on them for our boats? If she is buying them, then try for a Turkish common room sort of approach Quote
Frank Hagan Posted May 30, 2004 Author Posted May 30, 2004 Well, it seems that pillows are intended to be casually laid out in a non-structured way, so as to not make it look like some kind of funeral pyre, such as the picture below. Casual elegance is the name of the game, I am told. When my wife laughed at my creative attempt at pillow stacking, I told her she might ruin my self-esteem. She then indicated I did it just like a famous pillow arranger, some Mr. Suchadork. You can see by the paint patches on the wall that the Bedroom Painting Project is in its beginning stages. I'm hoping that will head off any thought of a Frank Improvement Project anytime soon. In the meantime, I'm going to try and get Aslan ready for some sailing tomorrow! MikeStevenson Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Oo0ohh Fun! Picking paint colors. We went through only twenty four colors trying to find the right ones for our house. I felt bad until the guy at Dunn-Edwards mentioned that they had a lady who tried 130 quarts of different colors before she was finished. That's a bit much, I think. They also said they had another lady bring in her cat to have it color-matched for her house. Must make finding the cat fun: camouflage cat. Good luck! It gets fun eventually (at least for me...) Chris Gerkin Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Frank ask for forgiveness have you wife arrange the pillows and then take a picture for future use. Quote
Frank Hagan Posted May 31, 2004 Author Posted May 31, 2004 I was glad she laughed. It looks so easy when she puts the pillows on ... I'm thinking I'll just leave them on the floor. Quote
Fintan Murphy Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 My 2 cents worth, a naked Frank, lying on the bed with a rose between his teeth, and the pillows strategically placed on his person. To be rearranged at will by Jan  By the way, Pleeeessse do not post pictures if you proceed with this idea. Quote
