Brian Toss has some great books on rigging. I used a 3/16 aircraft wire rubbed with lanolin and covered in heat shrink tubbing.

I think I am back. My wife was tempting me with a bigger boat. The catch was get rid of the one I have. Besides I don't leave unfinished work. These are a few pictures of current work. I have 3 1x6x20' DF for my mast and I am off next week. I also bought a 7.5 hp merc and that is going in a well. This will be an interesting week and I will post pictures. :wink:

I have used epoxy and gorilla glue. The epoxy has tha advantage of a waterproof coating inside the mast. The gorilla glue was easy to use and dried quicker. The hose clamps and stands work great. Once you get a few staves in the rest go pretty well. Just wear rubber gloves. I just bought DF 18 feet long for the mast and it will be a bridsmouth. This will be almost the end of the wood work. Then there will be rigging , sail and other stuff. On another board I posted that I may sell the boat. I think I have too much time and effort in the boat to do that. I may have found storage and slip space.

Great looking job you should be proud. All the boat building and sailing stuff will come to but a great dog "priceless".

Your work looks great. I went with kevlar tape on the keel and chines and it was not difficult. I have found a good finish is in the hull prep. Lots of filling with epoxy/filler. High build primer and several coats, all sanded, of a good paint. I also used an HVLP. Keep up the good work.

I went with the pump in the companion way and then out through the side. I have had no water acumulate while in the garage.

I have used the same shopsmith for 35 + years and I find that the sander disc and belt as well as the lathe and drill press are excellent for my use.

My building will slow down till after the move but I think this is my favorite picture.

I am going to have to finish up my boat in Los Angeles because that is where I will be after Jan 5. 8) 8) 8)

I didn't use countersinks on the sides but my Stringers are SYP.

I have been out of town and very little boat work has been done. However, I rolled it outside for the first time and I like the looks.

I think the interior and the electrics will be done over the next two weeks and that only leaves me with the rigging. I think probably September.

Yes that is the throttle for the motor. I cut the top of the shaft and the handle off and then mounted the switch there in the cockpit. The handle needs more work but it seems OK.

You could get the white material in a sheet but I used T & G white pine and put the boards together. I don't think the sheet material is waterproof.

Thank you for the messages. The cockpit is done but the lines and rigging are not. That will be soon. Under the wheel is a very old Russan compass.
