Charlie Jones Posted February 19, 2004 Author Posted February 19, 2004 The way I do it is to slice off rings on the table saw or radial arm saw, then cut the ring open on the band saw. I've heard of people running a length of pipe through a table saw lengthwise to cut the slot, then cutting the rings. I use 2 inch, 3 inch and 4 inch pipe - depends on what your are clamping. The width of the ring is varied depending on how strong you want it. I usually cut 1 inch wide rings. The 2 inch pipe rings will open to about 1 inch max. Also- you can put a 2, then a 3 over that then a 4 to reach in deeper. I do that sometimes when repairing veneer on furniture. Quote

In this instance it never showed me that it had posted, or even that it had started to do so. The other problems I'm having is that it sometimes won't load a complete thread - gets part way through and says "DONE". Then I have to reload and reload to get the complete thread. Or it just won't load at all- just sits there. Yesterday I had to give up totally because I couldn't get this or the main board to load at all. Quote

Yesterday I had to give up totally because I couldn't get this or the main board to load at all.[/quote'] Yes, its a problem at our data center ... the servers have been under "DDOS attacks" from hackers (they basically send millions of requests to the server as if they were regular web surfers, hoping to bring the servers down). Used to be the sites on that server would crash, but now it just slows the response time down. It takes a while to identify all the abusers, and then a while to block them. We should be back to normal now though! Quote
