Andy B Posted Tuesday at 01:59 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 01:59 PM Despite what a random rodent in Pennsylvania thinks, it will be spring some time in the near future. I need to get paint ordered, and I realize I have no idea how much I need. Does anyone have knowledge or even a guess at the surface area of the following? Topsides Deck Interior Mine is a CS-20 mark 1 (no cabin), but input from other CS models would at least get me in the ballpark. Quote
Paul356 Posted Wednesday at 04:41 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 04:41 AM I can do two coats on the hull of my 17 Mk I with a quart and still have some left over. 1 Quote

Paul356 Posted Wednesday at 03:42 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 03:42 PM I guess I should amend that: 1 quart of primer, 1 of color. But if you're using primer as a fill coat, then you'll probably want two qts of primer to make sure you have enough to paint, sand, paint, sand, etc. Btw, I used Jamestown's deck paint for the floor inside, the paint with the grit already in it. Worked swell. I repainted those areas 7 years later with the same stuff, still worked swell. 1 Quote
Reacher Posted Thursday at 04:07 AM Report Posted Thursday at 04:07 AM Andy, I think Paul’s estimates are good. I can’t remember the quantities involved in painting my CS 20 but I think it was a quart of primer and a quart of finish for the outside of the hull. I didn’t like the paint I used for the first finish coat so I changed to Interlux Brightsides for a do over. Deck is a different color. The inside is a combination of different paint and varnish. So, all told there are 5 quarts involved but not all of it used. Plus the quart of bad choice that was painted over. Good luck. Quote
