Wow! That is great! Congratulations on the approaching bundle of joy, but shouldn't you be going like gangbusters to finish your PC now? Perhaps you underestimate just how much time you will have for those kinds of things shortly! Sadly enough, I got an unwelcome reprieve from my rush to finish my Vacationer. My wife and I lost our baby a month ago, just at the halfway point. But we have one happy and healthy little boy to remind us that we are still blessed. Enjoy the restful nights now and stock up on sleep while you can! And start filling you house with batteries of every size and description. We quickly discovered that there is no such thing as too many batteries for all the do-dads and gizmos that accompany a baby these days!

Thanks for the kind replies everyone. It was alot of fun to build, but as Mark has guessed it pretty much brought the PC to a halt. I've been going pretty hard on it over the last week or so though, hoping to get the cockpit finished before the birth (in about 2 weeks). By the time I get round to painting, the baby should be old enough to crawl inside the cabin lockers and paint in there.

Sorry to hear of your loss Mark, that must be really hard. I'll have to take the battery situation as it comes, I'm hoping that the baby is anachronistic as I am, and will prefer clever mechanical toys that don't need batteries, but I don't like my chances .... I've told everyone that the baby would like handtools for its zeroth, but they keep giving me jumpsuits instead, what the hell am I sposed to do with these?

Hehe ... you'll have to go out and buy him some stuff yourself! A new jig saw would be good. A boy can't have too many of those. A smoothing plane would be nice too, as he needs something to "grow into".

The boat cradle looks great, by the way! My daughter is making "start family" sounds, to the chagrin of my son-in-law (and besides, I'm not old enough to be a grandfather!) If I buy plans for another boat, can I pass it off as a LARGE cradle for the baby when it comes? :wink:
