CJHolmquist Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 I finished my Long Shot project on Sunday afternoon. Can't wait to get to the water. I truly enjoyed building this kayak. It may not be perfect but I am pretty sure that it will float right side up. Thank you for the plans, manual and support. 1 Quote
benhardt57 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 That's a very sleek looking kayak! Are you in southern California? Quote
CJHolmquist Posted May 23, 2017 Author Posted May 23, 2017 Yes I am. I will be taking this to Alamitos Bay, Long Beach. Quote
benhardt57 Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 I just took a look at the map. You won't get run over by 60ft yachts there? Is Seal Beach National Wildlife Reserve accessible? That looks like it would be a great place to paddle! I'm only teasing, of course. Have fun! Quote
Kudzu Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Looks good. I do like the lines of the original better than the 'PBV' (pointy bow version). Yellow and white looks good too. My wife came up with those colors for her boat and it has taken off ever since posting photos of hers finished. Quote
Abyssdncr Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Are the Long Shot plans not adapted for the laminated beam yet or was this just an older set of plans? Great lookin' yak, CJ! Quote
