Sorry Greg, I was playing around to get the image size right. On my screen a picture around 550 to 600 pixels wide seems to display best.

With the obvious interest shown by the posting of photos about boats & water, how about a new forum just for that purpose. I reckon it would be quite popular. This photo below was posted on B & B Forum and I liked it so much I use it as my desktop background. It is a Core Sound 17 or 20, but are they smiling or what ?

Love the photos, something about water and sunrise and sunsets. Here's a couple on the Murray River in Oz. When I finish the Belhaven, one of the trips I want to do is down The Murray.

I just came across this site that will host your pictures for free and they can be inbedded in forums, web pages and ebay etc etc. It appears to be a great service. Has anyone here used it before ? http://www.imageshack.us/ Image is a sample of their service.

I recently got on ebay a copy of Joshua Slocum's book of his solo circumnavigation in the 1890's. Great reading.

Looking good Scott. I have been speaking to Lawrie Searl, and he is building a Belhaven. Could be #7 from memory. What type of paint is it that you put on. We wouldn't get the same brand out here but probably much the same. I have just had a paint supply shop open next door to mine, and they sell all the various brands of marine finishes

The dingy's name was 'Down There'. I had a Bertram once called 'Footloose' and the tender of course was 'Fancy Free'.

Love that picture of the tiller, reminds me of one I made years ago. I was so pleased with it I named it 'Atilla The Hun'.

Saw a yacht with the name 'Wylya' on Pittwater near Sydney a few years back, have a guess what the tender was called !!!!

Thanks Adla, Barry & Mike. You answered my queries completley. I think from what you say that the kevlar tape on the keel and chines should be almost mandatory. I will be operating from ramps that are mostly concrete and that can be pretty rough on the finish. Thanks again and keep the photos coming Adla.

Adla your boat is looking great but I am curious about the kevlar tape. Is it in place of glass tape on the chine or as well. This is the first mention that I have come across of using kevlar and was wondering what the pros and cons are.

Steve, it is not an illusion. In the Belhaven the "centreboard"is offset to one side so as not to encroach on available space. A bit over 12 inches I think
