I'm a bit concerned about the clutter of turning blocks on the side decks with just the one jib. Where are you going to put that gear for two and cleats for all the sheets? Our boat already looks like an ad for various cleat manufacturers.

Capt. Jake may have one and we are headed that way, having all the bits and pieces but needing to install them. I miss having a downhaul. Glen-L has a very reasonably priced sliding gooseneck which combines with a bit of track, a couple of stops and a cleat for the downhaul.

Adla, Phil won't mind whatever you decide to "copy". He has the attitude of a proper shipwright who shares good ways of working with the apprentice. He might argue with this description because he makes no claims to expertise, but like so many of the builders here, he is generous with experience and keeps the website for just that reason. I have looked at Phil's pictures and drawings so many times that I keep forgetting which ones are already printed out and keep finding them all over the house. My husband says, "Who on earth is pragdata?" Let him worry! 8)

Greg, do you have or can you borrow a little trailer (perhaps utility) that Dragon would fit on? If your town is anything like the town where I grew up and many of the towns hereabouts, there are nifty local 4th of July parades which welcome homemade floats. It is easy to imagine Dragon and crew dressed for the part making a splash in a parade. Hey Alexander, your paint job would really be awesome in a parade! :viking: :usa :pirate:

The vessel of exploration, Dragon, is beautiful and elegant, just as stunning as the Viking ships of ages past. Now the crew, complete with Mohawks, look more like characters from the great old story "The Ransom of Red Chief". Do we dare get on the water with those two? They look completely gleeful.
