Hardwood Bending Question

I'm getting ready to saw up a piece of hardwood for a laminated coaming and I have a question about the direction of the growth rings. Should they be parallel to the bend (A) or perpendicular (? Google has revealed nothing to me about this.

I shouldn't respond, but I did the 2 I've made like "A".  Don't know if that is correct, but it worked.

Yep. A. Bend easier, be stronger vertically, and resist splitting better when you drill all those holes.
