Wrapping up paint, varnish is complete.

Calie and I guarding the boat between coats of paint from the first wave of Canadian soldiers that have come off the lake this season. For you non Great Lakes folks Canadian soldiers, midges and a host of other names are a mosquito sized flying insects that live only to stick in the paint of Great Lake boaters. I don't believe they even eat, just reproduce stick in paint and die.

Looks great Jim! Hard to tell from the photos -- did you do the interior same as the hull or is it flat/less glossy?

btw, thanks for the full gallery of build pictures you put up -- I'm always checking them when trying to figure something out.

The exterior is Brightsides Blueglow white and the interior is a Sherwin Williams Industrial Marine "Paper White" it has a little yellow hue to it and is less glossy, figured less eye strain that way.

You are very welcome, that's the beauty of online communities like this forum; we can share and help out when we can, I still find myself checking Wes's site when I need to visualize something.

I don't think we are going to make it. I have some rigging to wrap up and most importantly some legal hoops to jump through like trailer weigh in and registration and boat Water Craft Inspection, Hin number assignment, tile and registration. Here in Ohio they make it a joy to build your own boat as long as you do not want to leave the driveway with it. I do have something going on at work which will keep me home this year. Maybe we could catch up somewhere between GA and Ohio later in the season, Scott has been threatening to get back north for a couple of years now.

The most important lesson to be learned about varnish is to let it dry before picking the bugs out of it.

I just use a foam roller and several light coats (4 on the CS). A well cured epoxy base really gives a high build quickly. Other than that take your pictures from 15 ft away.
