BRS17 first build

I have built a lot of furniture but this is my first boat build. Graham was right there aren't straight lines in a boat. I started hull 14 back in March and have about 65 man hours invested so far. I don't get to work on is as often as I like because have to sell industrial controls for a living so I can afford to play with the wood. I hope to have my piece of floating furniture done by August.

I'm hoping to launch my BRS 17 this week.  It took me quite a bit longer than I expected.  I had hoped to finish in 8 months but it's taken about 13.  There is a lot of boat in that 17 feet compared to my first build - a 12' rowboat with a seat and foot support.  I can't wait to sail her!

Nice job, Phil. You,ve already done most time-consuming step, most interesting anyway. The rest are rather small steps except sail making. You can see your boat! Thanks for sharing.
