Phil Stallings Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I have built a lot of furniture but this is my first boat build. Graham was right there aren't straight lines in a boat. I started hull 14 back in March and have about 65 man hours invested so far. I don't get to work on is as often as I like because have to sell industrial controls for a living so I can afford to play with the wood. I hope to have my piece of floating furniture done by August. sscoville Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I'm hoping to launch my BRS 17 this week. It took me quite a bit longer than I expected. I had hoped to finish in 8 months but it's taken about 13. There is a lot of boat in that 17 feet compared to my first build - a 12' rowboat with a seat and foot support. I can't wait to sail her! Guest wwbaginski Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Nice job, Phil. You,ve already done most time-consuming step, most interesting anyway. The rest are rather small steps except sail making. You can see your boat! Thanks for sharing. Quote
