Question for frank

Hello Everyone,

Frank, I was viewing the photos of your rigging lines for a tiller setup. Are the blocks swivel or non swivel. I am at the point of ordering them at Duckworks. Many thanks. PS: Any extra advise is appreciated.

Hmmm ... I'll have to think!  

This is a non-swivel block attached to the pad eye with a shackle; a swivel isn't really needed here because the movement of the block is just from left to right in this picture.  The block I used was a Harken Big Bullet 146, but any similar block sized for your main sheet would work.

Here you can see it with the boom off to leeward (actually, pushed off the starboard side with my hand instead of the wind).  It simply rotates so that it is in the same plane of motion but flipped toward the outside.  The block on the end of the boom has a full swivel as it does twist quite a bit.  The block forward of that one is another non-swivel block.

There are a couple of ways to rig this; I really liked how it worked when sailing.
