Frank Hagan Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 Looks like you got out of that "Landlubber" category after 11 posts ... the first 5 ranks are spaced from 12 - 13 posts apart, so you get progression from one rank to the next pretty quickly. After 50 posts, it changes every 25 posts, until you get to 300 posts. Then every 50 posts. After 400? I don't know yet! Capt Jake is fast approaching though ... Quote

I dug my boat out today, winter may still think it is here, but I sure have had a enough. Made contact with an old friend, Lars Opland, of the Matanuska Suesitna Valley, a small wooden boat builder, whose boat the Loon inspired me to build the Wolf. We will be having a little sail off right after break up. A gaff against a double masted open cockpit boat of the same size. I figure I can always steal his wind :twisted: and the larger jib, should even things up a bit. Quote

That's what I always say, right before I make my move to take advantage of my opponent's naivete'! Lull him into complacency first, then make your move. If he does something like that to you, challenge him with being ungentlemanly! Or you could have fun and have a beer afterwards. I haven't been sailing in a while ... although I have gotten the kayak out a couple of times over the past few weeks. Weather is warm enough here to kayak now, and I've enjoyed being close to the water again. Once my work schedule settles down, I have to get some more "wind time" under my belt. Quote
