So, I've built a test section of 2' and it came out fine, altough I didn't do the tapering. I'm saving all that fun for the real stuff. . . The interior is completed, now need to epoxy and paint the deck. I'm waiting for the hardware (hint hint Graham!), and then I can get into the "fussy" work of which Wes speaks so highly. I'm getting so close, I can't wait!! Quote
lbrewer Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 An idea I borrowed from Charlie Jones is to build the birdsmouth mast in halves to fit blocking in the places where you want extra beef for fastening hardware. Use packing tape in the appropriate "vee" when gluing up the mast so the epoxy won't stick. Then you can take it apart, epoxy in the blocking, and glue the two halves back together without the tape. This is the mainmast for a CS17 going together now. Quote
