Russ Sylvester Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Wow! How goes it all!?! Saw a gaff rigger out on the water last sunday and it got me to remembering the whole weekender time. I even pulled out the picture album that the wiff made during the whole building process. Sniff, sniff, I sure miss building that boat. I do still have the vacationer plans, hmmmm..... Actually, I better not go there right now. We are elbows deep in getting the 23 fixed up to put on the market in the next month or two. We are looking to move up to 30-32 range. We want to start doing 2-3 week Bahama cruises in preperation for retirement and the big lap around el caribe. Thought I would check in and say hey. Russ (Builder/Skipper of weekender 'Opus') Quote

And they never granted me posting rights. Who's runnin' that show? Why would they give me the cold shoulder? And Bruce, I KNOW it made you smile when I posted about "him"... (It's making ME smile right NOW) ;D They probably aren't snubbing you ... they have had a ton of problems with their software getting hacked and spammed. One of the Admin guys was telling me he had hundreds of automated registrations to go through and deny. They are working on getting it fixed up, though, so you might try again. In a few weeks, they are going to convert to an easier to manage backend so they can avoid most of the problems. Quote

The IP address ban is better at pin-pointing the banning, but its always a battle to balance what's necessary and what's effective against what's usable. I actually have started registering people who have yahoo or gmail addresses again unless they are something like "buyviagra@hotmail.com" or "frankisatoadhead.gmail". The other anti-spam measures seem to work, so I loosened up on that aspect of the registration. Quote

This will be much easier. I ma pretty much getting spammed from the same three or four idiots in Ru, PL and a couple with US URLs. There must be a hell of a lot of money in this somewhere. Quote
