:DGreg you should see the PVC clamps on his ears... he is great young man.  Doesn't know when to help, neither does my wife cause I get in this groove and ponder a whole lot.  WHen building anything, I always reach a point, usually in the middle of some needed event where I zone and don't say anything, kind of pisses them off until my mind is right and they fortunatly stand by, take a break and wait for me to speak.  Too much thinking on my part.  The nice ting is TODAY  they see the boat and it looks like one.  Lots of pulling in to do and setting the bulkheads, take most of tommorrow I'm sure.  DOing it mostly myself cauwse of the my pondering.  Wood you see on the rudder is Okume ply from Joubert.  Wood on the centerboard blank is hickory and walnut.  THe centerboard will look a lot different when planned, sanded, and shaped, I plan a hickory toe and a walnut, hickory, fir tiller when I include the extension.  Really getting into the strip joining and shaping.  Making the rudder was a chore but very satisfying when sanding down to shape.  Spent a LOT of time pondering and sanding to make all the bands of Ply measure out the same on both side to be as assured as possibe than the shap is symetrical and fair.  Glad you liked the pics, thanks Greg for the advice on how to post.  Drove my son with the clamp earings nuts making him show me how to do over and over and over, he finnally wrote them down and I still messed them up for about an hour or better.  Give me wood, to heck with electronics.  THis site is the first and only I reallly enjoy sharing our work and talking to fellow adventurers.  Thanks so very much for the support and encouragment.  I will need a lot more as we progress, just nice to really be 3D.  GEt some more pics tommorrow when the hull is more complete.

Thanks Again Folks

I always think of going 3D as the 4th major milestone in a boat building adventure.  1st is finally choosing the design, 2nd is getting the materials and tools and setting up to build, 3rd is the lofting and cutting of the hull pieces, and 4th is going 3D.  After this the milestones vary depending on design, but the really major and last one is splashing for the first time.  Wow...what a rush!!

I am enjoying seeing your work and reading your postings.  Thank you! :)

Charlie, you would through more work into the mix, but I am excited to be here, all wired temp board in place and will do the transom today and finish pulling it in and squaring up.  Keeping our fingers crossed.
