Hi all,

Here's a pic of my shop, on this lovely morning of Dec 18, 2007.

Just a reminder to those numerous unlucky souls of this forum residing in perpetual sunshine: Winter Solstice celebrations, about to happen in a couple of days, are not the same when the winter element is removed!

That said, I did turn back to the blazing hearth for another round of coffee before braving the 50' slog out to the shop.

Easy answer.

Boatbuilding. Shoveling cow crap. Scraping boat bottoms after 5 year in the water.

See, MY whole attitude towards snow is--

SNOW SUX!!!

Also towards cold-

COLD SUX!!!

And I really wouldn't care if I NEVER experienced snow again. That's why we live WAY down here on the Texas Coast ;D Even here we had a foot 3 or 4 years ago on Christmas eve- first measurable snow in 105 years. And I had to shovel the crap off my front deck!!!

Jan,

I choose skiing where you are and sailing where I am.  I'd probably be happier skiing where you are because I wouldn't set foot out of the house without being really well insulated but here I seem to have trouble picking which jacket to wear (the light one or the medium one) when I go sailing.  I can't seem to find really warm clothing where I live (North Carolina, USA).
