Hi all, & especially Mr. Tim, ;D

I got home last night from picking up Annie M and in a some ways I think building one from scratch would have been easier.  We will see; I picked up 2 more sheets of nice marine ply this morning while I was out getting the pieces to replace Annie's rub rails.

I thought you all might appreciate a few pics of the trip home. 

Down the 97 to the border, We followed the Columbia river south then west through Washington/Oregon,

then took the coast all the way to SF.

Then home,

we cannot wait to get her up to the lake.. This weekend for sure if not before.

On a purely informational note this is an amazingly easy boat to haul.  She "tags along' like a champion little sister.

Hmm  ;D let's just say road trip... :

It was, all things considered, spectaularly easy, and beautiful. At least from Annie M's POV. But with a loong layover at the border, due to a "medicated" shotgun wielding smuggler.  A looooong 36 hour drive; due to a teenager (my friends) who absolutely could not be left one more day where she was staying.  And a disconcerting electrical safu that caused all the warning lights in the Vue to go on, and my speedometer to go off, 20 miles from the middle of nowhere and 80 miles out of San Jose, and everything in general taking 2 hours longer than charted..it was frustrating in a way entirely different than say cutting a $80. piece of lumber 2" too short.

i haven't posted here so long it got away from me! hehehe

congratulations - i lurk on Tim's site ALL THE TIME.....would love to see Annie in person someday. I am taking my Morgaine out of town this weekend......nice to have a boat built and ready to sail - it beats everything else.

And itching form fiberglass dust ain't too pleasant neither.

Ouch! I remember that; way back b4 they knew that breathing the stuff could kill you,  ;D my parents used to send me into the attic crawlspace to retrieve holiday decorations.  Yep! itching from fiberglass dust will drive you completely batty.  

I will remember your wise words Ray, when it comes time to glass rsdacat. (anyone know where I can get a "nuclear suit")  As I stated before; buying Annie M has in no way curtailed my plans to build.  But having the plans to build will make maintainance on Annie much easier.

I LOVE ANNIE M....

Annie is a very special boat.  Part of the reason I decided to make the purchase and the drive was due to her special place in our collective hearts.  I thought that she deserved more than a SOLD tag beside her name.  I am betting she has a lot of story still to tell.  And no doubt she will teach this beginner boatbuilder a thing or three before the champagne breaks across the bow of her future sister.  For this I would have travelled the distance and paid four times over what I did.  She is well worth it.

I promise to keep everyone here posted on both.

About fiberglass dust I havent gotten that far as of yet, but I used to install it on duct work and used to wear a tyvec suit, that may be suitable.
