Length of spindrift 10 mast

I am about to wrap the gooseneck onto the mast of my spindrift 10 but I'm little confused as to it's location.  The rigging and sail plan page shows the mast to be 16'9".  Does that length include the mast plug?  I understand the top of the boom should be 13'10" from the top of the mast but I need to be sure of the true mast length.  Also, how do I mount the clam cleat for the clew strap on the aluminum mast? Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Scot, my SD 10 has 200" mast overall length. Wood to wood. The center of my gooseneck is 34 1/4" from the bottom of the mast which is about 13'10" measured from the other end. It is riveted on. Two caveats -my boat is 17 years old (sail No 12) so things could be different now. Or possibly I screwed up back then and do not remember any more. Anyway, I do not think one inch will make any difference either way but  if your luff sleeve does not fit right you can always redo the top plug. Sorry , can't help you with the clam cleat-  my set up is different. PeterP

I have a Spindrift 9, so no measurement I can give is of value.  But maybe you will like my method.  I rigged my halyard and sail on the mast then used it to locate the gooseneck.  I used self-tapping screws to attach all hardware to the mast.
